POCSTARS at ESS+ 2026: From Demonstrations to Coordinated Security Operations

04.Sep.2026

BOGOTÁ, Colombia — From August 26 to 28, 2026, POCSTARS participated in ESS+ 2026 at Corferias in Bogotá. During the event, the POCSTARS team spoke with professionals in security, communications and systems integration about a shared question: how can control centers, patrol teams and field personnel coordinate more effectively around the same incident?

Conversations Grounded in Real Operational Workflows

In security operations, having PTT communications is only the starting point. From the moment an incident is detected until the response is completed, teams typically also need to verify information, establish communications, dispatch personnel, receive feedback from the scene and close the incident.

With this workflow in mind, POCSTARS presented application scenarios involving PTT, SOS alerts, video, location, patrol and dispatch. The team also conducted demonstrations and technical discussions using the booth setup available at the event. Available functions depend on the product version, licenses, terminals, network, configuration and project validation results. They should not be assumed to be available across all systems, devices or scenarios.

From Feature Lists to Verifiable Scenarios

The discussions at the event also reinforced that a communications solution for security operations should not be evaluated solely against a feature list. For security operators and systems integrators, the more important questions include:

  1. Where does the alert or request for assistance originate, and who verifies it?

  2. What information does the control center need to make a decision?

  3. How are field personnel contacted and dispatched?

  4. How are video, PTT, location or third-party systems validated by protocol and version?

  5. How is feedback received, how are records retained and how is incident closure confirmed?

POCSTARS therefore recommends defining a specific operational workflow first, then preparing demonstrations, technical evaluations and project testing around that workflow. For CCTV, video management platforms, terminals and other third-party systems, the protocol, version, authentication, permissions, concurrency and acceptance criteria must be reviewed. Support for a type of protocol does not mean automatic compatibility with every system.

Continuing the Conversation on PTToC and MCX

In addition to security-operations scenarios, the POCSTARS team spoke with industry professionals at ESS+ 2026 about PTToC and MCX services. The discussions also explored how operators, systems integrators and channel partners can combine local networks, customer relationships and service capabilities to develop communications services for industry users.

PoC/PTToC commonly provides communications over cellular and Wi-Fi networks. MCX focuses on mission-critical communications based on 3GPP standards. Network capabilities, service priorities, terminals and the scope of interoperability depend on the specific environment and configuration and must be confirmed through project testing.

The Event Is Over, but the Conversation Continues

ESS+ 2026 has ended, but the conversations that began in Bogotá continue. Through online demonstrations and technical meetings, POCSTARS will keep working with security operators, systems integrators, telecommunications operators and partners to discuss specific scenarios, integration boundaries and validation paths.

If you would like to review a reference workflow based on alert → verification → communication → dispatch → response → closure, schedule an online demonstration or technical discussion with the POCSTARS team.
